In April of 1994 I was able to ring the Schoolhouse bell for the first time as a staff member, having begun working with Maureen in the inaugural multi-age class at Co-op, school year 1993-1994.
Standing on the porch of the Co-op last spring, it felt like the 1950s. The parking lot was empty, the highway was quiet, save for a lone passing car once in a while. I imagined long ago when the teacher would ring the schoolhouse bell and children would arrive on foot or on horseback.
