Dear Co-op Families,
It is with a heavy heart and disappointment on everyone’s part that we write to tell you we will be unable to reopen the Co-op this school year given current safety concerns and ongoing social distancing.
It is hard to plan for the future but we hope to have some sort of gathering to celebrate the time we did spend together this school year and as closure for all of us. We will leave the school intact so it looks like “Co-op” to the kids. We don’t know when this gathering will happen but we will keep everyone posted with hope for the future.
Looking forward to the time we will see each other, let’s plan on keeping the Co-op tradition of making a memory book going for your child. We will send more information on this over the next few weeks. For Toddler families, memory books are something you will create next year if your child attends our school but traditionally families do not create memory books while in the toddler program.
For those of you that paid tuition for April we appreciate your support, as we still have all our basic operating costs, such as rent, utilities, insurance and many other needs along with teacher salaries. We are going to pay our teachers for as long as we can. We feel committed to taking care of all our people whom care for our children.
However, as a Co-op, we want to support our families too and we understand that you may not be able to pay tuition for these lost days in April and May. If you are able to pay tuition please mail the check to the P.O. Box 493, Rutherford Ca 94573 or go to our web page sthelenacoop.org and look for the fundraiser tab and you will see donate, and know that we thank you. If you are experiencing hardships due to this pandemic we understand.
We hope that you and all your loved ones are safe and remain so in the future.
